La crisis sanitaria del COVID-19 nos demostr\u00f3 que, si bien se puede restringir el transporte de pasajeros, no podemos hacer lo mismo con el transporte de carga. Sin embargo, la relevancia de este sector para la sociedad no se condice con la investigaci\u00f3n que existe en nuestro pa\u00eds sobre este tema.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Por ello, resulta destacable el premio otorgado este a\u00f1o por la Sociedad Chilena de Ingenier\u00eda de Transporte (SOCHITRAN) al proyecto de log\u00edstica urbana \u201cZonas Inteligentes de Carga y Descarga\u201d, que permiti\u00f3 la habilitaci\u00f3n de estacionamientos para veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos de carga urbana en Providencia. Es la primera vez en la historia de dicha entidad que la distinci\u00f3n recae en un proyecto de log\u00edstica, lo que es una muestra del gran desaf\u00edo de visibilizar las necesidades de desarrollo de este sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El transporte de carga juega un rol vital en la subsistencia humana. Basta mirar a nuestro alrededor para notarlo: el siguiente alimento que comer\u00e1s, el dispositivo desde el que est\u00e1s leyendo esto, el \u00faltimo medicamento que tomaste, o los materiales con que se construye la casa, o la calle m\u00e1s cercana que veas: todo ha sido transportado, como materia prima o producto terminado y, en muchos casos, ha dado la vuelta al planeta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As\u00ed como esencial, el sistema de distribuci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n se modifica constantemente. La pasada crisis sanitaria puso a prueba su capacidad de respuesta y mostr\u00f3 inequidades en el acceso a la distribuci\u00f3n de bienes. Si a esto sumamos el impacto de la globalizaci\u00f3n, la tecnolog\u00eda, y la automatizaci\u00f3n, la velocidad de adaptaci\u00f3n del sector resulta vertiginosa. Anticipar estos cambios requiere no s\u00f3lo experiencia pr\u00e1ctica, sino tambi\u00e9n una base te\u00f3rica s\u00f3lida que sirva como br\u00fajula en un mar de factores de enorme variabilidad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En ese sentido, las necesidades de investigaci\u00f3n en Chile son abrumadoras: a\u00fan no contamos con una metodolog\u00eda que permita estimar los costos a lo largo de la cadena log\u00edstica, ni con matrices actualizables Origen-Destino (OD) de bienes esenciales. En este caso, sin una matriz OD de bienes, no hay posibilidades de activar planes de contingencia ante cat\u00e1strofes, puesto que no sabemos en qu\u00e9 lugar y en qu\u00e9 cantidad se encuentran los bienes en la red de distribuci\u00f3n. Estos requerimientos, b\u00e1sicos en el transporte de pasajeros, a\u00fan no han sido resueltos para la log\u00edstica en nuestro pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Considerando lo anterior, los recursos invertidos en investigaci\u00f3n del transporte de carga no concuerdan con su relevancia, ni con el potencial de beneficio social que tendr\u00eda el desarrollo de bienes p\u00fablicos en esta materia. La investigaci\u00f3n en log\u00edstica no s\u00f3lo es necesaria para abordar los problemas inmediatos, sino tambi\u00e9n para establecer un marco s\u00f3lido que permita la innovaci\u00f3n y la adaptaci\u00f3n constante. La introducci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00edas emergentes como la inteligencia artificial, el internet de las cosas y la automatizaci\u00f3n plantea oportunidades emocionantes, pero tambi\u00e9n desaf\u00edos complejos, que s\u00f3lo pueden abordarse mediante la investigaci\u00f3n constante y en colaboraci\u00f3n intersectorial.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Destinar recursos a la investigaci\u00f3n log\u00edstica es una inversi\u00f3n en la resiliencia de nuestras sociedades y en la garant\u00eda de un acceso constante a los bienes esenciales. Desde Conecta Log\u00edstica agradecemos a la Sociedad Chilena de Ingenier\u00eda de Transporte por destacar al transporte de carga en su quehacer; y esperamos que esta noticia se transforme en un llamado a la acci\u00f3n, no s\u00f3lo para acad\u00e9micos y expertos en log\u00edstica, sino tambi\u00e9n para gobiernos, empresas y toda la comunidad.
