La creaci\u00f3n de este laboratorio ha contado con el apoyo de capital semilla del grupo intralog\u00edstico <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mecalux.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s2\">Mecalux<\/span><\/a>. El<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent.mit.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span class=\"s2\">Intelligent Logistics Systems Lab <\/span><\/a>(laboratorio de Sistemas Log\u00edsticos Inteligentes) explorar\u00e1 el potencial del machine learning (ML) y la inteligencia artificial (IA) para transformar el futuro de la log\u00edstica y el transporte de mercanc\u00edas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Este ser\u00e1 el punto de partida de una colaboraci\u00f3n en materia cient\u00edfica entre MIT CTL y Mecalux que aunar\u00e1 el conocimiento acad\u00e9mico de la principal universidad tecnol\u00f3gica estadounidense con la experiencia pr\u00e1ctica de una multinacional con m\u00e1s de 55 a\u00f1os de historia. Mecalux aportar\u00e1 la visi\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica y el soporte de sus expertos en software y automatizaci\u00f3n durante los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">El nuevo laboratorio examinar\u00e1 varias l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n que abordar\u00e1n algunos de los desaf\u00edos m\u00e1s complejos de la industria mediante nuevas perspectivas. Por ejemplo, estudiar\u00e1 m\u00e9todos y herramientas de vanguardia capaces de producir predicciones de gran precisi\u00f3n a corto plazo y con una alta resoluci\u00f3n espaciotemporal. Estas capacidades predictivas permitir\u00e1n ofrecer servicios de entrega en el mismo d\u00eda o en cuesti\u00f3n de horas y satisfacer las necesidades de compa\u00f1\u00edas y clientes en todo el mundo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Este espacio dedicado a la innovaci\u00f3n estar\u00e1 liderado por el Dr. Matthias Winkenbach, director de investigaci\u00f3n del MIT Center for Transportation &amp; Logistics (MIT CTL). \u201cQueremos apoyar la aplicaci\u00f3n de nuevas tecnolog\u00edas basadas en la IA y el machine learning a los retos m\u00e1s importantes a los que se enfrentan las empresas y la sociedad\u201d, afirma Winkenbach.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tecnolog\u00eda para la excelencia operacional<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">La investigaci\u00f3n del nuevo centro del MIT \u2500fundado con el apoyo de Mecalux\u2500 ayudar\u00e1 a la industria a dise\u00f1ar cadenas de suministro que brinden un servicio al cliente de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n de una manera m\u00e1s econ\u00f3mica y sostenible. \u201cLa excelencia operacional depende de la perfecta integraci\u00f3n de la tecnolog\u00eda aut\u00f3noma en las operaciones del almac\u00e9n. La IA y el machine learning pueden desempe\u00f1ar un papel fundamental en la planificaci\u00f3n y el control de estos recursos\u201d, explica Javier Carrillo, CEO de la empresa de tecnolog\u00edas de almacenaje Mecalux.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El Intelligent Logistics Systems Lab del MIT CTL analizar\u00e1 la contribuci\u00f3n de las nuevas tecnolog\u00edas en el control de sistemas aut\u00f3nomos de transporte y entrega y la automatizaci\u00f3n de procesos como el&nbsp;picking, la clasificaci\u00f3n, el empaquetado y env\u00edo de pedidos desde almacenes o tiendas. Otro campo de estudio ser\u00e1 el desarrollo de m\u00e9todos que combinen la investigaci\u00f3n operativa (IO) y el ML. Su prop\u00f3sito es solucionar problemas de optimizaci\u00f3n combinatoria, cada vez m\u00e1s complejos y heterog\u00e9neos, que resultan cruciales para el \u00e9xito de la industria log\u00edstica.
