La operaci\u00f3n de reconversi\u00f3n se llev\u00f3 a cabo en el astillero Zhoushan Xinya en China durante 88 d\u00edas, terminando a finales de octubre de 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abNos complace anunciar que el Maersk Halifax ha sido reconvertido con \u00e9xito a un buque de metanol de combustible dual. Tras la finalizaci\u00f3n de las pruebas en el mar, Maersk Halifax ha vuelto a funcionar y ahora presta servicios a nuestros clientes del comercio transpac\u00edfico\u00bb, dice Leonardo Sonzio, jefe de Gesti\u00f3n de Flotas y Tecnolog\u00eda en Maersk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La conversi\u00f3n del motor ha sido realizada por MAN Energy Solutions. Adem\u00e1s de sustituir las piezas de la m\u00e1quina para que el motor pueda funcionar con metanol, la operaci\u00f3n de reconversi\u00f3n en el astillero ha implicado agregar nuevos tanques de combustible, una sala de preparaci\u00f3n de combustible y un sistema de suministro de combustible. Tambi\u00e9n se ha ampliado el casco para alojar los tanques de combustible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Con este cambio, la eslora del buque se ha ampliado 15 metros, hasta los 368 metros, lo que ha aumentado su capacidad de unos 15.000 a 15.690 TEU.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abDesde que nos fijamos el ambicioso objetivo clim\u00e1tico de alcanzar cero emisiones netas para 2040, hemos explorado el potencial de reconvertir los buques existentes a motores de combustible dual. El pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o, tendremos los aprendizajes de esta primera conversi\u00f3n de un gran buque.
