Si imaginamos una especie de tridente ideal de eficiencia log\u00edstica, podemos afirmar que el pa\u00eds cuenta con al menos dos de las tres piezas necesarias: cuenta con socios estrat\u00e9gicos y con infraestructura. Pero entonces, \u00bfcu\u00e1l ser\u00eda el tercer eslab\u00f3n que le permitir\u00eda a Chile alcanzar este objetivo?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para comenzar, podemos afirmar que Chile tiene una econom\u00eda abierta, en la que el comercio internacional representa alrededor del 61% de su PIB, seg\u00fan datos de Santander Trade Mark. Si observamos la informaci\u00f3n proporcionado por The Observatory of Economic Complexity, veremos que enero del 2025 el pa\u00eds export\u00f3 por m\u00e1s de US$9.900 millones e import\u00f3 US$7.900 millones, generando una balanza comercial positiva de un poco m\u00e1s de US$2.000 millones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si hablamos de los socios exportadores-importadores del pa\u00eds en 2023, el organismo Aduanas de Chile destaca dos principales jugadores internacionales, tan importantes como diferentes: China y Estados Unidos. Sin embargo, no hace falta irse tan al norte o cruzar el Pac\u00edfico para encontrar otros valiosos socios comerciales. En este selecto grupo tambi\u00e9n figuran vecinos regionales, como Brasil, Argentina y Per\u00fa. Naciones con las que intercambia gran parte de mercader\u00edas de forma terrestre.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Es aqu\u00ed donde se denota la importancia del pa\u00eds trasandino como jugador comercial en la regi\u00f3n. Seg\u00fan la consultora Gleiter, en 2022 fue el tercer pa\u00eds de Latinoam\u00e9rica que m\u00e1s export\u00f3, siendo superado solamente por M\u00e9xico y Brasil. Por otro lado, el Ministerio de Econom\u00eda de Argentina indica a Chile como el segundo destino de exportaci\u00f3n del pa\u00eds en la regi\u00f3n y el cuarto a nivel mundial.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Este presente comercial que vive Chile se lo podemos adjudicar a diferentes razones: pol\u00edticas econ\u00f3micas de largo plazo, ubicaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica estrat\u00e9gica, inversiones p\u00fablicas-privadas, entre otras. Pero hay una cualidad a destacar y es la de la infraestructura log\u00edstica del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Por un lado, algo que diferencia a Chile de algunos de sus vecinos es que cuenta con varios puertos con otra clase de infraestructura y de un calado m\u00e1s profundo, como Talcahuano y Valpara\u00edso. Son puertos que pueden recibir embarcaciones de mayor tama\u00f1o que no llegan a otros pa\u00edses de la regi\u00f3n. Esto le facilita a exportadores e importadores mejorar costos y transportar mercader\u00eda especial a la que de otra manera no podr\u00edan acceder.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pero tambi\u00e9n Chile es, seg\u00fan algunos estudios, el pa\u00eds que cuenta con las mejores carreteras de Am\u00e9rica Latina. Tanto el Banco Mundial, como el Informe Global de Competitividad del Foro Econ\u00f3mico Mundial, lo distinguen como el pa\u00eds con mejor infraestructura en esta materia. A su vez, de acuerdo con Ipsos y el \u00cdndice Global de Infraestructura 2024, siete de cada diez personas est\u00e1n satisfechas con las autopistas y la red de carreteras en Chile. Por \u00faltimo y como dato de color, el medio ingl\u00e9s BBC destac\u00f3 la carretera austral chilena entre las 6 carreteras \u00abm\u00e1s extraordinarias\u00bb del mundo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esta combinaci\u00f3n de infraestructura mar\u00edtima-terrestre, sumado a los m\u00e1s de 30 pasos fronterizos comerciales con Argentina, Per\u00fa y Bolivia, establecen a Chile como una pieza fundamental del comercio regional.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Entonces, con todas estas virtudes a su favor, \u00bfqu\u00e9 es lo qu\u00e9 le est\u00e1 faltando a Chile para terminar de consolidarse en este rubro? Esa tercera pieza del tridente de eficiencia log\u00edstica que mencionamos en un principio es la implementaci\u00f3n de nuevas tecnolog\u00edas: inteligencia artificial, <em>machine learning<\/em>, automatizaci\u00f3n y digitalizaci\u00f3n de los procesos. Quienes estamos involucrados en la log\u00edstica internacional debemos impulsar el uso de este tipo de herramientas, con el fin de brindar servicios que maximicen la eficiencia de costos y tiempos, mejorando la calidad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tambi\u00e9n debemos procurar mejorar la experiencia de usuario de los clientes que utilizan nuestros servicios. Impulsar el uso de plataformas que les permitan a las personas simplificar procesos, gestionar env\u00edos, monitorear viajes, mejorar la comunicaci\u00f3n entre dadores de carga y transportistas, agregar transparencia a los procesos y visibilizar la informaci\u00f3n en cada etapa de la cadena.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Este \u00faltimo punto facilita la trazabilidad, con la que se puede medir la huella ambiental de cada eslab\u00f3n de la cadena de producci\u00f3n. Informaci\u00f3n vital, en un mercado en el cual el 71% de los consumidores con conciencia ambiental est\u00e1n dispuestos a pagar m\u00e1s por productos que ofrezcan trazabilidad, seg\u00fan revela un reciente informe de IBM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La implementaci\u00f3n de la IA en la log\u00edstica, como en casi todas las industrias, merece un p\u00e1rrafo aparte. Conocemos diversos casos de \u00e9xito, como el de la startup HappyRobot, orientada a la automatizaci\u00f3n en cotizaci\u00f3n y gesti\u00f3n de flotas. Tambi\u00e9n la espa\u00f1ola-estadounidense ZeroError, que tiene la capacidad de detectar desv\u00edos y recalcular autom\u00e1ticamente la planificaci\u00f3n de la demanda. Centralizar todas estas funciones en un mismo servicio que funcione como un <em>middleware<\/em>, parece ser el pr\u00f3ximo paso.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Queda claro que si la log\u00edstica chilena concreta su transici\u00f3n hacia la transformaci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica, el mercado regional ofrece una oportunidad de crecimiento enorme.
