El proyecto testear\u00e1 el sistema Cat\u00ae Dynamic Energy Transfer (DET) en la Divisi\u00f3n Radomiro Tomic, una tecnolog\u00eda de vanguardia que permite transferir energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica a los camiones de extracci\u00f3n mientras est\u00e1n en movimiento. Esta prueba pionera es central en la hoja de ruta hacia operaciones m\u00e1s limpias y descarbonizadas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El piloto utilizar\u00e1 tres camiones di\u00e9sel-el\u00e9ctricos modelo Cat\u00ae 798 AC y contempla la instalaci\u00f3n de un sistema de rieles electrificados en una de las rampas del yacimiento. Estimaciones preliminares indican que podr\u00eda lograr una reducci\u00f3n de entre 60% y 70% de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero de estos equipos, adem\u00e1s de extender la vida \u00fatil de sus motores. El sistema DET combina un m\u00f3dulo que convierte la energ\u00eda disponible en el sitio, un sistema de rieles electrificados y una conexi\u00f3n directa al tren motriz del cami\u00f3n, posibilitando la operaci\u00f3n continua con electricidad y disminuyendo la dependencia del motor di\u00e9sel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Este proyecto es fundamental para Caterpillar, que busca perfeccionar su tecnolog\u00eda incorporando la experiencia de clientes estrat\u00e9gicos de la talla de Codelco. \u00abJuntos estamos transformando la forma en que operar\u00e1n las flotas en los sitios mineros y allanando el camino hacia un ma\u00f1ana m\u00e1s sostenible\u00bb, destac\u00f3 Marc Cameron, vicepresidente senior de la compa\u00f1\u00eda estadounidense.
